One glorious autumn day, a young photographer noticed a group of small children playing amongst the vibrant leaves strewn across the park. He saw that they were collecting conkers, hoarding them in plastic bags, buckets and pockets, and he was suddenly thrown back into those blustery mornings on the school playground.
What must it be like to see the autumnal world from within one of those tiny shells?
Our young photographer decided to find out. This is what he saw...

Morning high: this horse chestnut tree's new crop looks down on the early passers-by.

Grounded: one conker plummets to earth, finally breaking free of its outer shell.

Palm life: but it's brother is snatched from home...

... and the hands of fate begin to tighten...

... before at last the puppet is put to work...

Is autumn so glorious now...?
